Can you send eco-friendly packages?

Can you send eco-friendly packages?

Protecting our planet is much more important than you may believe. This applies to our lifestyle, our decisions and life. But, small things are the best. Maybe you believe that sending your packages is already eco-friendly, but it isn’t. In order to move them, providers use airplanes, cars and ships. All of them cause a lot of pollution. This is a serious problem if we know that many people send packages every day. However, there is a green way.

•    The biggest question is, should I send my package via ground or air? The air service is much faster, but it makes a lot of pollution. The secret is to choose ground transport. Maybe it is slower, but it is much better for the environment. You should know that transporting 1 tone parcels per just 1 nautical mile, makes much less CO2 emissions than by airplane. In fact, it makes 1.39 pounds of CO2.
•    Choosing the right provider is also very important. In this case, you should choose a provider that is trying to reduce their impact on the environment. Many providers are working on reducing the amount of CO2 they make. Some of recommended are: FedEx, UPS and USPS.
•    Ship your items together. Maybe you believe that sending several, smaller packages will make less pollution, but it isn’t true. It is better to send just one, big package. In this case, you will use just one set of labeling, packaging and wrapping material. This means that you will make less waste as well.
•    Try using as little paper and wrapping material you can. With this simple trick, you will make less waste. Also, you can reuse wrapping material.
